Update: The next battleground

Shannah —

Take a trip to IN I’ve just wrapped up a weekend tour of Indiana, and I wanted to let you know about where we stand in this battleground state.

All across Indiana, I’ve spoken to veterans, students, and factory workers about the challenges small-town America is facing — and about how we’re going to start solving them.

I see the excitement on the ground, and I truly believe Indiana is ready to stand up for a different kind of politics. But only if people like you get involved and take ownership of this effort.

This coming weekend — and especially next Monday and Tuesday — supporters across the country will be coming to Indiana to knock on doors, make phone calls, and Get Out The Vote for Primary Day on May 6th. They need your help to reach as many Hoosiers as possible.

I know this is a big decision. But what’s brought our campaign where we are today is that so many people — including many who never thought they’d get involved in politics in their lifetime — have taken that leap to help us succeed.

We need to finish strong in the Hoosier State, so I hope you’ll sign up to take the trip in the coming days:

People are paying attention to what happens in Indiana this week.

They know how far we’ve traveled together, but they want to know whether we can close this race, secure the nomination, and finally bring about the change our country so desperately needs.

We can bring jobs back to communities across America, reduce the price of gas, and put an end to the war in Iraq — and it all begins in Indiana.

In the next eight days.

I hope you’ll join us.

Barack

Help Us Name Our Charity

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I were looking to start a charity to help build schools in Africa for children with aids, and it has been on my heart to help the kids here in the U.S. , as well. I really feel that people want to help but some just don’t know how to do it. We need help in naming our charity. Please send me some ideas. I liked HEAT.org, however it has been taken.

H-helping

E-Educate

A-Africa

T- Together.

Please help name this Charity. We can’t really do anything until we have a name. It will be a charity that will help those who need help.

Thanks

God Bless!

Scripture of the day

1  Oh, praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord,
you who serve at night in the house of the Lord.
2  Lift up holy hands in prayer,
and praise the Lord.
3  May the Lord, who made heaven and earth,
bless you from Jerusalem.*

A Conversation

Tonight I had a conversation with people whom I probably would not cross paths with in my day to day life. It made me realize a few things. One, that I have never been more encouraged to continue homeschooling my three kids. Two, as parents it is so important to parent! So many people think that just because they gave birth they are a parent, technically they are, however there is so much work that needs to be done as a parent. I think that loving your kids includes preparing them for the harsh realities of the world. Preparing them to love themselves the way God made them and to have such a sense of who they are no one will be able to lie to them and tell them different.Three, we need to teach our children to love others and not to push those who are different down to make themselves feel good. Just care about other people’s feelings and well being. I think that by doing that we will make the world a better place. To do that we have to be careful of the examples we give them.
