Thoughts on……………..

It’s never long before the

consequences of procrastination

rears its ugly face.

Grumpy, discouraged and overwhelmed,

try to do a little here and there.

 You will escape

the suffocating hold that

procrastination grips your life with.

Looking back how many days did you do nothing?

Was it worth it?

Probably not

Your Voice Can Make a Difference For Alaska’s Wolves

Dear Friend of eNature,

Alaska is the only state in the nation where trophy hunters can gun down wolves from airplanes or chase wolves to exhaustion and then shoot them from the ground all under the guise of “predator control.” Act now to protect America’s wolves.

We’ve already lost close to 700 wolves in the past four years to the brutal practice of aerial hunting, and Alaska officials hope to kill hundreds more this year alone.

You can get Congress to stop this cruelty now. Please urge your representative to co-sponsor the Protect America’s Wildlife (PAW) Act before another wolf dies.

Thirty-five years ago, Congress passed a law to put an end to aerial hunting. But Alaska is exploiting a loophole to resume this cruel practice. The PAW Act can close this federal loophole and curb Alaska’s brutal aerial hunting program.

Hundreds of scientists condemn this cruel practice even as states like Wyoming and Idaho threaten to follow Alaska’s dangerous lead. It’s time to stop aerial hunting once and for all. Please take one minute to sign our petition to stop aerial hunting of wolves today!

Thanks for your love and respect for wildlife, and for taking the time to make a difference,

Recipe of the day

Chicken and Dumplings

Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee
Show:  Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee
Episode:  Comfort Food 2

1 whole store-bought roast chicken (about 2 pounds)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 container (7 ounces) chopped onions
6 cans (14 ounces) low-sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1 container (14 ounces) pre-cut carrot sticks, chopped
1 container (14 ounces) pre-cut celery sticks, chopped
1 roll (16.3 ounces) golden buttermilk biscuit dough
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed chicken gravy
Remove skin from chicken and shred meat into large pieces. Set aside. In a small frying pan, add vegetable oil and heat over medium heat. When oil is hot, add chopped onions and saute until soft.In a large pot or Dutch oven, add broth, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, carrots, celery, and sauteed onions. Bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer for about 10 minutes to soften vegetables, and then add shredded chicken. Continue to simmer while making dumplings. While stew is simmering, prepare dumplings. Open can and remove biscuits. On a lightly floured surface, roll each biscuit to 1/4-inch thick. With a knife, cut each biscuit into 4 pie-pieces. Set aside.Skim surface for any scum that has risen to top. Stir in chicken gravy. With the stew still simmering over low heat, stir in dumplings a few at a time. Once all dumplings are in to pot, cover with a tight fitting lid and cook for 10 minutes.Ladle into bowls and serve piping hot.Note- I have always had a problem following a recipe to the letter. I added a few things to this one

I added

1 1/2 cup of dry white wine.

1 teaspoon of sage

I used Grand Butter flavored biscuits

5 cloves of garlic

1 small bag of peas and carrots

I did not use the chicken gravy.
