Dear Shannah,

Thank you for contacting me about America’s wildlife. It is good to hear from you.

On September 25, 2007, Representative George Miller introduced H.R. 3663, Protect America’s Wildlife Act of 2007. This bill would amend the Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956 to establish additional prohibitions on shooting wildlife from aircrafts.

I share your concerns for the preservation of wildlife and the natural environment. I support responsible policies that promote our nation’s environmental health and maintain our country’s economic health. Like you, I want future generations to enjoy the bountiful natural resources of our nation as well as the benefits of strong and stable economic growth.

H.R. 3663 has been referred to the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, and Oceans of the House Committee on Natural Resources. I await further committee consideration to help me determine the appropriate impact of this legislation. Please rest assured that I will keep your views in mind should this legislation come to the House floor for a vote.

Again, thank you for contacting me about this issue. Your views are important to my work here in Washington.

Sincerely,

/m/

Donald A. Manzullo

Member of Congress
